Service was okay except that our tech didn’t turn the system back on when he left. The house was freezing cold this morning when we got up. The furnace had not kicked in. When I checked the thermostat the system was in the off position.

Performed diagnostic on a Rheem system. Found defrost board was intermittently due to bad weather from previous night, coming on and off on a slightest touch. Tightened all connections and reset system and check refrigerant level. System ran with no problem. If issue reoccur, will have to order defrost board also recommend having surge protection for the unit.
Recovered refrigerant from system.Removed and replaced old filter dryer with new filter dryer. Checked system for leaks with nitrogen and pulled system down to a deep vacuum. Added 5.10 lbs of refrigerant to manufacture specs and tested system for proper operations. System has a 30° temperature rise and is operating properly at this time. Recommend a follow up appointment to check AC when weather starts to warm up.
Upon arrival homeowner stated that system was blowing cold air when running in heating mode. Contacted technical support and performed diagnosis. Found possible restriction in filter dryer on outdoor unit, technical support recommends replacement of filter dryer. Will have to reschedule to perform repair due to rainy weather. System is operational with issues at this time.

Found bad gas valve on hot water heater working intermittently. Gave homeowner an estimate for repairs vs replace.
Upon arrival main concern is if the furnace wasn’t working. Homeowner had mentioned AC wasn’t working as well and had utility bills. Old return filter out and noticed that the insulation had a completely covered the return duct, being sucked in. Removed insulation went outside and checked the unit and the furnace was working let it run for 20 minutes and performed a safety inspection and found the failed/cracked heat exchanger, Had a hole in it. Went over options, Sold HVAC system with return enlargement scheduled for the 22nd of next week, Friday. Paying $2k upon completion Financed $12,300 through service Financing. Call Complete.
Replaced toe kick grill in kitchen. Made a seperate trip to Lowe’s to get correct size. Customer asked about photos that were supposed to be sent to him. Also, the previous grill in place was actually a wider floor grill and the opening had been cut for this to fit, thus the opening is a bit wider than the standard toe kick grill. I don’t know if this will be an issue, but we’d probably have to cut a 10x6 or 10x5 sidewall grill down for it to fit and fill this gap.
